1st ANNUAL RAMADAN LECTURE SERIES

Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008: Shereeff Akeel

He has been representing Arab Americans in Metro Detroit alleging discrimination, specializing in employment and civil rights.  And has filed several class action law suits on behalf of former detainees of Abu Ghraib and other detention centers.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008: Aneerah Ali

She is a Cooley Alumni, who ran a Family law practice.  She currently provides free counseling on Islamic websites both legal and Islamic, primarily dealing with marriage and custody issues. 

 

Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008: Mudassar Tawakkul

He is currently practicing as an assistant Corporation Counsel for Wayne County and is an Interim- President for Michigan Muslim Bar Association.
